More Hannah-isms

Do you remember when Hannah saw her first naked little boy, and she said, "Look, Mom, he has a tail!"? Well, last night at our second Goodman girls party at Jim and Diane's house, Aunt Diane busted out a doll she got her grandkids for Christmas. It was a little boy doll in just a diaper and very lifelike. Under the diaper it had little uncircumcised boy parts. Hannah took a look, so we asked her if he had a tail and she answered, "No, I broke it off." Oh crud! We cracked up, but upon further review, his parts were all still there. I was getting very nervous there for a while.
On another note... Tonight after dinner, Hannah got Jeremy's coat, put it on backwards with the hood over her face and sat there hiding. We couldn't find her, she was so still until we saw little feet sticking out from under the jacket. She giggled a little bit to let us know she was awake, but before long, she was sound asleep. She stayed in that position for a couple of hours. She woke up happy and refreshed (she' s probably still awake in her bed) What a goofball. I love her silliness!

Of Course I Would (like, duh!)

Here is a little conversation that happened in our car on the way home from St. Johns. First, a little background though. Hannah is a bit of a tormentor to her siblings. Therefore, no one wants to sit by her. They stay as far away from her as possible. For reasons such as: when playing slug bug, Hannah takes her own version of it and starts wailing on everybody saying, "tree, grass, car, stick..." Anything she can see, she hits someone for it. She teases, touches and pesters.

(Notice all the mosquito bites all over Hannah's face. The rest of her body was way worse)

So anyway, as we were on our way home, near Snowflake, Jake had the privilege of sitting by Hannah in the back seat. We were looking out at the sky which was beautiful. Rays of sunshine were breaking through the clouds. It was breathtaking, actually (in a good way, not like in Seinfeld).

(Look at how green it is. The White Mountains are the greenest I have ever seen them)

Jake: That cloud looks like Jesus is coming down.

Hannah: If he was coming down, would you jump out of the car and give him a hug?

Jake: Yes, would you?

Hannah: Of course I would!

It was so matter of fact, so simple and made Jeremy and I look at each other and smile.

I love listening to my kids, though sometimes I wish I drove a limo as the family car. That way when there is arguing I could just roll up the window separating us and drive in peace, but then I'd miss those conversations. And those conversations make the unbearable teasing worth it, I guess.

Sweet Hannah

Oh, my dear Hannah. I love you and here's why...

You kiss me every night before you go to bed and then make me kiss you and then you kiss me back and say "stop kissing me," so I kiss you again and it goes on and on and we laugh and laugh.

You stuck your head in my armpit the other day. When I asked what the heck you were doing, you said, "It smells good." Bless you child for not saying my pits were stinky. So gross, but cute.

You are so stubborn and so soft at the same time.

When you were singing your new favorite primary song, "A long time ago in a beautiful place, children were gathered around Jesus..." you told me, "Mom, it's not a long time ago in a beautiful place. It is a long time ago in Children's Place." So clever and witty.

You are a bit mischievous, and have a twinkle in your eye when you know you are doing something naughty.

You handle your role as a middle child so well.

You are your own person and have your own sense of self and style.

You love with all your heart.

I love you, Hannah.
